Static Text for Airports

The addition of static text for many airports in the latest sector file release is quite helpful...except...while it is quite beneficial to have the taxiway designators some of the extra text naming specific hangars and such can tend to clutter the scope a bit-especially when working CTR. Would it b...

KPDX in 1808 sector file

The airport layout in this file is a bit outdated. Runway 10L/28R is not displayed at its full length extending to the west of 3/21.
Also-is it possible to have the taxiway map added to this airport file in the next sector file?

ZBW Marathon

Boston just wrapped up 60 hours of online presence this weekend. Always a CTR controller and usually extensive coverage at KBOS and other airfields. The effort was well rewarded. They saw over 550 aircraft over the 60 hours and simstatus.com showed KBOS as the #1 airport for arrivals and departures ...

Re: Session Information

Actually, I did obtain session history from VATSIM. I was looking for the real-time information on the website this time around. You have confirmed that it is OOS.

Session Histories

Does anyone know if there is a way to search session histories for the record of aircraft handles, tracked, handoffs, etc.?

Re: FNO 10/19/18

Thanks to everyone who helped out last night. It was definitely a busy night! One thing that I think would have definitely helped, would be if we had more controllers sign up. Unfortunately, it seems that with each event we are just scraping by with the number of controllers we have because not eno...

Re: TEMP ALTITUDE

Regardless of the scenario, the key to using temp altitudes is that they should be cancelled prior to handoff. That is what it says in the SOPs here. I am firmly of the camp that a temp altitude is a tool/reminder for an individual controller while the aircraft is under his control. Once he is done ...

FNO 10/19/18

I worked SEA_N_CTR for this event and was inundated with traffic from the moment I signed on and for the next 2 1/2 hours to the extent that I only got ahead of the picture in about the last half hour. I have been at this hobby for many years and I do not recall a session like this when I was behind...

KBFI on the website home page

For what it is worth- the airport board on the home page shows active runways for KBFI as 13s or 31s instead of 14s or 32s.

Re: ZSE Changes for the 1808 Cycle

Unless I am missing something obvious (certainly would not be the first time) the static text taxiway designators are missing for KPDX on this center map. KSEA indicators are still there but none at PDX.

Re: ZSE Changes for the 1808 Cycle

So from the looks of these KSEA SIDs the SID altitude is now back to 9000 for departures off the 34s vectored west.

PDC Question

When issuing a PDC...do you select the aircraft and then type the alias in the VRC screen or is it via chat message?

Re: JO 7110.65W

Sincer we are seeing ground speed in the data block and the pilot is likely using IAS as the speed reference, I find it helpful to say "reduce speed by at least 30 kts" which eliminates the difference and removes the potentially confusing "to" from the instruction.
