Re: KPDX in 1808 sector file

I agree this should be updated now that Flightbeam KPDX has been released. However, the taxiway markings should label in such a way that controllers know both taxiway configurations (NEW/OLD) Biggest change is A7 is gone since Tango extends, and Tango on the north end becomes K and extends across 3/...

Re: Seattle Live Event 2019?

While this event is a bit out and sounds great. For those wondering about anything sooner, I have mentioned that like the events we had in the past at my residence and that of past/deceased member Tim Braly, I've already been looking to also host some regular live events in Salem/Keizer using the of...

Re: Quote Wall

From tonight with a ZSE Controller who was the pilot with me on Approach at KPDX. Observed aircraft told to d/m 3k at 500 ft and was asking to go to the visual approach just before this. ATC: ASA69P, you're currently showing 500ft, caution terrain, recommend you climb immediately. Airport is to your...

Re: vATIS

I was able to use vATIS for the first time last year when I had returned for a short bit. Before that though, I use to have a little program made which would call the phone number for the D-ATIS for PDX and other airports and use the actual real-world ATIS and it was pretty legit. Some might remembe...

Re: Website Issues, Page Response Times

The problem I see is that you could then just stay on LOA and I think that can lead one to feel they are essentially getting special treatment and avoiding the 30-day requirement altogether. Like I mentioned, I may not know that it's going to be 30+ days before I can spend 3+ hours controlling again...

Re: Website Issues, Page Response Times

I and many other former members have been told that as well, but then I'll constantly be requesting an LOA and then when I suddenly have time be requesting off of it. Why not considering allowing others to opt into a 60-day period, and heck instead of it being 6 hours which would be equitable, make ...

Re: Website Issues, Page Response Times

That's not surprising that the issues with the timeouts are impacting user sessions as well. I haven't used it enough to notice that. Seems there might be too much happening with websockets (socket.io) than there needs to be.

Website Issues, Page Response Times

Hey folks, First off, been awhile since I've been on here and just finally returned after the longest period. After the passing of another former ZSE controller/webmaster and friend Tim Braley, I ended up once again in the 30-day lapse which is always what keeps me off volunteering. If it was a 60-d...

Rest in Peace: Timothy Braly

Hello ZSE members: It's with heavy heart that I report that passing of a great man, fellow aviator, real-world controller, VATSIM controller, fellow Army Veteran, and great friend. Tim Braly served as the ZSE Webmaster for many years, having been the creator of the initial framework and codebase for...

Re: Tooling around Seattle.

There is this great restaurant that is one of my favorites near S45, within a quick walk over Hwy101. It's called the Side Door Cafe. Glenden Beach State Park is also right there, as well as the Salishan Resort. The resort will send a card to pick you up if you're staying with them too.

Re: ORBX Hobby Field Release

Nice, I just flew over hobby the other day on my way to Cottage Grove. I really wish ORBX would do Salem. I can get access around the airport to get pictures and all too.

Independence would also be cool.

Re: **You MUST Check with CIC before Getting On a Position!*

Being on Teamspeak would also be a courtesy thing, so why don't we require that? What downside is there to having that instead. I am not saying that people shouldn't use courtesy and say something to others, but to force them to sign in as a OBS only to tell them in a situation where you are not ass...
