Strong Feedback!

I just wanted to share how proud I am of the controllers of ZSE. We have had tons of positive feedback coming through in the last month. We really have something good going on here.

Keep up the great work! :D :D :D

Re: PAINE (PAE) AND OLYMPIA (OLM) APPROACH SHELVES

Frank, You are correct. It is best practice to hand them off once they are climbing and not in conflict. It makes life on Center must easier, as I am sure you have experienced. It is up to the Center controller when to accept the handoff, but initiating that handoff as early as possible is what we s...

Re: PAINE (PAE) AND OLYMPIA (OLM) APPROACH SHELVES

The document referring to these shelves explicitly states that PAE and OLM are up to 8,999ft for APP. 9,000 and above are owned by center. See the document under Major Approach. This is not new news. Aircraft from PAE should never be handed off that late. Please ensure proper procedure is being foll...

Re: Top 10 Controller Change Suggestion.

Anything is possible. We had been debating the top 10 for awhile on whether or not to keep it around or not. All suggestions are welcome.

Re: SHARING

It's a decent way to share. Dropbox only allows 5gb space for a user unless you upgrade, so I do not know how feasible that would be in the future. But a good idea.

Right click on any channel and a menu pops up. Available in that menu are the channels file browser, you can upload files and download files there for each channel that someone has uploaded.

FORUM ETIQUETTE

The forums should be used as a place to discuss and have friendly conversations. The forums should not be used to debate matters and to air differences at a negative level. Please be mindful when posting and replying. From now on, I will be locking/deleting topics that are having negative comments a...

Re: SHARING

Negative. Most people share files via direct email or through teamspeak. Blake is working on the alias manager but there is no ETA on that from what i know of directly.

Re: INFORMATION IS VALUABLE

If you are on a radar position, yes. Not valuable for tower and below.

I recommend using DSR over VRC. The targets and blocks are more closer to what you get in a real ERAM.

No Call/No Show Sessions

In lieu of the amount of no call no show sessions we have had in the past two weeks, I would like to take attention to Greg Bogosian's post on Scheduled Training in the 'Announcements' of the ZSE Forums. Anytime you know you will miss training, it is your responsibility to let your mentor/instructor...

Re: DISRUPTIVE PILOTS

That looks good, Peter. I would never hesitate to contact a SUP if you are in need of assistance. We are here to help and assist. Some pilots may be new and not aware of the rules or realized they even connected to the network. In the end, if we have to, we will definitely remove someone from the ne...
