Airspace Limits

1. Purpose

This SOP will be used at all times while controlling on the VATSIM network. This SOP contains all airspace altitude limits for all ZSE TRACONS/RAPCONS. This will be used at ALL times when controlling the specified TRACON/RAPCON.

2. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This SOP shall be maintained, revised, updated or canceled by the ZSE Senior Staff, and shall be effective unless there is a conflict with the VATUSA/VATSIM policies in which case they shall supersede these procedures.

3. DISTRIBUTION

This SOP is to be read and applied by all ZSE TRACON controllers.

4. BACKGROUND

This document outlines the altitude limits of TRACONs in the ZSE airspace.

5. Altitude Limits (by TRACON/RAPCON)

i. Seattle (S46) TRACON

Seattle Approach Control (S46) owns from the Surface to 15000ft within defined airspace boundaries. With the exception of the OLM shelf where S46 owns from SFC-9000ft and Seattle Center (ZSE) owns above 9000ft. The Arlington shelf where S46 owns SFC-5000ft, NUW owns 5001ft-9000ft and ZSE owns above 9000ft.

ii. Portland (P80) TRACON

Portland Approach Control (P80) owns from the Surface to 15000ft within defined airspace boundaries. With the exception of the MMV shelf where P80 owns from SFC-6000 and ZSE owns above 6000ft.

iii. Cascade 'Eugene' TRACON

Eugene Approach Control owns from the Surface to 9000ft within defined airspace boundaries. 

iv. Spokane TRACON

Spokane Approach Control owns from the Surface to 12000ft within the Spokane sector and owns the Surface to 14000ft within the Missoula Sector.

v. Grant County TRACON

Grant County Approach Control owns from the Surface to 10000ft within defined airspace boundaries.

vi. Kingsley (Klamath Falls) RAPCON

Kingsley Approach Control owns from the Surface to 11000ft within defined airspace boundaries.

vii. Cascade 'Medford Sector' TRACON

Medford Approach Control owns from the Surface to 11000ft within defined airspace boundaries.

viii. Whidbey RATCF

Whidbey Approach Control owns from the Surface to 9000ft within defined airspace boundaries.

ix. Chinook 'Yakima Sector' TRACON

Yakima Approach Control owns from the Surface to 10000ft within defined airspace boundaries.

x. Chinook 'Tri-Cities/Pasco Sector' TRACON

Pasco Approach Control owns from the Surface to 10000ft within defined airspace boundaries.
